Recently METRO celebrated Culinary Art and Science by unveiling ’25 of India’s Biggest Chefs Their stories and recipes’ authored by Dr. Saagarika Ghosal, Director – Human Resources at METRO Cash & Carry India.
I was lucky enough to get an invite through Food Bloggers Association, Bangalore- FBAB to witness this grand launch party .
The day was 14th of February and the Venue was Le Meridien, Bangalore. METRO celebrates Entrepreneurship with this one of a kind book .
First of all we are greeted by the PR people for the event and escorted us into the banquet hall of Le Meridien.There is sheer pleasure is seeing the table set for the invited celebrity Chef’s whose recipes find a place in this epic book. Dr. Saagarika Ghosal launched the book with all the eminent Chef’s sharing the platform with her. She herself felicitated some of the top Indian Chef’s who are in a league of their own and have made a mark not only in the Indian Culinary arena, but have also earned recognition internationally. Those Chef’s who are unable to attend the ceremony has sent their recorded Audio Visual video’s sharing their valuable thought’s about this book.Those honoured included chefs Abhijit Saha, Kunal Kapoor, Sabyasachi Gorai and Vicky Ratnani, among others.
According to the author – A Chef is like an artist who has really achieved artistic empowerment and taken India to an International Culinary Map.Other than the food, each and every one who is involved in not only the aspect of food but the health of future generation. In this book recipes are simplified and very well presented. Lots of efforts and planning goes into creating this book which got 25 innovative recipes from top 25 chef’s . So many sleepness night’s, endless cups of coffee and constant follow up’s with the Chef’s results into this book which took nearly 6 months to finish.

Finishing off the event was an informal culinary demo by award-winning Indian chef Sabyasachi Gorai at the pool side. He demonstrated a quick ,healthy and delicious recipe Mixed Millets (Ancient grains of India) Risotto with Prawns in Coconut milk. The crowd favorite Author sportingly cook along with Chef Sabyasachi.
Lastly we are treated with lipsmaking food at the pool side dinner buffet.
This book is a must have for everyone who shared a special bond with food and have a favorite food memory. The book has an excellent collection of delectable and mouthwatering recipes.
Lastly goes our Indian Proverb – Eat Well, drink in moderation and sleep abound, in these three good health abound.
