The chaat craving can attack us anytime. So if you have got ready made papdi/ papri at home then you can prepare this snack within 30 minutes. Papdis are little crisp round Indian crackers, made with all purpose flour/maida and then deep fried. These papdi can be prepared at home too. This Alu papdi chaat I have prepared using the ready made one’s. The addition of green chuney and sweet tangy red chutney makes this a super hit chaat. This popular street food of North India has became popular in every region of India.

well beaten curd/yogurt 2 tbsps
potato boiled and chopped in cube shapes 1
Sprouted green moong dal/ sabut moong 1 tbsp ( you can use boiled sprouted green moong too)
onion finely chopped 1
coriander leaves chopped 1/2 cup ( keep aside one tbsp of chopped corinader for garnishing)
Mint leaves chopped 1/4 cup
Tamarind ( small lemon sized )
seedless dates 1/4 cup
Jaggery/ gud 2 tbsps
chopped green chilli 2 tsps ( keep one tsp away for garnishing)
cumin powder 2 tsps
black salt/rock salt 2 tsps
common regular salt 1 tsp
Saunth powder/ dry ginger powder 1 tsp
Cumin powder 2 tsps
Dhania powder 1 tsp
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
chaat masala 2 tsps
lime juice 1 tsp
Tomato Sauce – 1 tbsp
water as required
sev 1 tbsp
Boondi 1 tbsp
Toasted peanuts 2 tbsps
Pomegranate seeds 1 tsp (optional)
how to buy antabuse Method :
First take a deep bottomed pan add boil half cup of water. Put the tamarind and dates and boil for 10 minutes. Then add the jaggery, one tsp of black salt, one tsp of saunth powder and 1 tsp of cumin and dhania powder. Continue to cook till the jaggery melts completely. Then switch off the flame and wait till the mixture cools down. Then grind the cooled mixture into a smooth paste. Transfer the sweet tangy red chutney into a closed container.
Then grind the coriander and mint leaves, one tsp of black salt, green chilli and one tsp of lime juice. Add 1 tbsp of water in between grinding to get a smooth chutney. Transfer the green chutney in a closed container.
Take the cubed boiled potatoes in a bowl, sprinkle one tsp of salt, one tsp of chaat masala and one tsp of red chilli powder and toss well.
For serving the alu papdi chaat take a flat serving plate and assemble all the papdi one by one on the plate. Put the masala potato cubes , the sprouted moong and the chopped onions. Then drizzle some green chutney , red chutney and tomato sauce. Sprinkle one tsp of salt, one tsp of chaat masala and one tsp of cumin powder. Top with curd, sev, boondi, peanuts, pomegranate seeds, chopped green chilli ,chopped corinder leaves and serve immediately.
