The recently revamped The Kabab Studio( a unit of Goldfinch Hotel), Seshadripuram, Bangalore is ready to enthrall the diner’s giving them the ultimate Dining Experience like no other. Earlier is was named ‘Kabab Studio’ but after 14th January, 2016 it was relaunched as ‘ The Kabab Studio’ after renovation. No one in there right frame of mind would want to miss experiencing the all new delectable food extravaganza. I got a chance to taste the famed spread and beverages of The Kabab Studio by choosing to have my Dinner there.
The Kabab Studio is renowned for it’s authentic and delicious cuisine. The blistering experience at The Kabab Studio is bound to leave an impression on the foodies. A must try buffet experience, live grill on table offering multicuisines namely North Indian, Chinese and Continental , attached fully loaded Bar (Innovative Signature Cocktails and Mocktails), Live Sports Screening and multiple seating options is surely reason enough to try food here in the first place. Choose from their three seating options AC, Open Terrace and Private Dining Area. As of now 149 people can seat at one time ( AC section have 84 seating capacity with regular pricing, Dome have 25 seating capacity with regular pricing, PDR Private Dining Room offers 12 seating capacity with extra charge and Al Carte food available from Sana-di-ge and Banjara The Restaurant located in the same building and Alfresco the Open Terrace offers 30 seating capacity with regular pricing). Open Terrace is the Smoking Zone. The Bar offers Alcohol and only cigarettes no cigar’s. They offer 5 Course Meal (Soup, Salads, Starters, Main Course ,Dessert and Lassi) with 60% of vegetarian dishes and 40% of Non-vegetarian dishes. The dishes were medium spiced and one can request for custom made spice level. They offer freshly made Roti, Naan, Kulcha and Amritsari Kulcha based on the order’s as a part of Assorted Bread Basket served in a miniature Army Truck. A regular diner will never get a chance to be bored from the food offered here as they have a daily changing Menu. The two Live Counters ‘Takatak Counter’/ ‘Live Ice Cream counter’ and ‘Chaat’ are the most attractive and in-demand counters. I rejoiced seeing the smiling Chef churning out some amazing icecreams on the cold stone. One is spoilt for choices in choosing the icecream flavors, an array of toppings and different sauces to choose from. And Boy I love coming back to this counter with my request for some freshly prepared exciting icecream’s. And the Live Chaat Counter is a super hit with the choicest Chaats like Alu Tikki Chaat, Pani Puri , Dahi Puri and Papdi Chaat.( My mouth is watering even when I am writing this)
My personal favourite was the thick Lassi served in a black little earthen pot which goes perfectly well with the starters as well as with the maincourse.
My evening started with the cold sweet thick lassi and the different types of Chaats. I am forced by my own self to ask for one more of those addictive chaat’s.
The have a mind blowing collections of Mocktails to choose from. Normally the mocktails were prepared with sugar, soda and different flavored syrups. But here one can get some pleasant surprise by seeing the beautifully presented connotation’s .
It’s called ‘Pahadi Margarita’, which is a delightful summer mocktail to refresh you and succeed in tantalizing your palate . The Margarita glass was tucked between dry ice , eminating the fog created a dreamy aura. This mocktail was a concoction of Lemonade, coriander, Sugar Syrup and Tamarind Pulp .
‘TKS OK’ mocktail was served inside the Lantern Tea Case is very querky with a distinct flavor of Pineapple.
The most popular Cocktail ‘ Tedhi Medhi Martini’ is a concoction of tamarind and gin served over dry ice.
The Starters offers traditional Kababs with a modern twist to these kababs. I tasted Sofiyana Paneer Tikka (melt in mouth paneer cubes marinated with indian spices), Chatpate Kumbh ( delicious Achari Mushrooms), Achari Babycorn , Grilled Pineapple (love the juicy sour sweet and caramelized Pineapple), Potato Crunchy Tikki ( The stuffed Potato crunchy is the most repeated appetizers for me) and Ajwain Aloo ( Simple ajwain flavored Aloo failed to impress ) as a part of Veg Starters.
The Non Veg Starters were Malai Murgh Tikka( Delicate malai flavored Chicken cubes marinated in an non spicy marination), Murgh Kalmi Kabab ( Spicy Kabab with spices like cumin, cilantro and Mint), Atisi Jingha(Tender and Juicy grilled Prawns with a crispy crunchy outside), Mutton Galouti Kabab (Minced spiced mutton chunks shaped into kabab )and Kasturi Fish Tikka( Spicy and Tangy flavoured Fish Tikka).
Pair these kabab’s with the variety of Chutneys in glass jar’s placed in a cute Wired Glass Carrier.
The Veg Soup Gajar Mutter Shorba had a lovely curry flavor and the Non Veg Gosht Adraki Shorba lends a distinct flavor of ginger to the soup.
The Scrumptious Veg salad’s had a wide variety like Green Salad, Tossed Salad, Cabbage Honey Apple, French Bean Salad and Potato Cocktail Salad and in Non Veg they had Chicken Salad.
Then the time come for the Main Course. Frankly speaking after a filling Starters one can hardly have any space left for the Main Course because one can never want to give the desserts a miss.
I tasted Paneer Makhani ( Soft melt in mouth paneer cubes simmered in a rich creamy gravy), Tawa Babycorn ( babycorn sauted with spices), Aloo Mutter ( potato and fresh green peas in a cashew based gravy), Dal Panchamel ( 5 types of dal simmered for hours with some basic spices), Macaroni Pasta with Pesto Sauce ( an absolute hit with all the kids), Steamed Rice, Amritsari Chole ( spicy and tangy chole), Mix Veg in Tobanjan Sauce( Mixed exotic and Indian veggies in some chinese sauces) and Schezwan Noodles ( Stir Fried Noodles with some mixed vegetables) as a part of Veg Course.
Then Hydrabadi Gosht Biryani ( blend of Persian and Mughal cuisine with succulent and tender chicken and aromatic rice), Machi Sawanthwadi ( a fish preparation), Murgh Kalimirch ( a Chicken preparation with Rich Gravy spiced with black pepper, Gosht Vindaloo and Hong Kong Prawn as a part of Non Veg Main Course.
The quality of all the dishes are excellent and note worthy. Thankfully they don’t use the same base of masala in every dish of the main course as most of the other restaurants tends to do.
Interestingly the Dessert offered 7 types of Veg and One Non Veg. The Gajar Halwa ( no complain absolutely with the non greasy Carrot halwa), Rasgulla ( Cooked Chena dumplings in a sugar syrup were not so soft as they are supposed to be), Orange Cheese Cake ( Just perfect with the soft cheese above a crumbled biscuit base), Sweet Curd ( Misti Doi served in mini earthen pot’s are delicious), Fresh Cut Fruits, German Cream Pie and Strawberry Kheer ( Something new for me) and Coffee Almond Pudding tasted lovely with the predominant coffee flavor.
They have a ‘Paan Counter’ an outsite counter just at the entry of the restaurant where a dedicated Paan Walla creates some fabulous Paan. I tried the regular one’s as well as the most tried Chocolate Paan where a readymade Paan is dipped in melted chocolate. These Paan’s were a must try to help one’s digest the 5 course fantastic Meal.
