Exciting Wahrabia Fest ! at Barbeque Nation

Have you checked The Wahrabia  Fest (from 2nd march to 19th march) going on at Bangalore,Mangalore and Mysore branches (Lunch and Dinner) of Barbecue Nation to celebrate Arabian dishes?

I got a chance to visit Barbeque Nation Rajaji Nagar Bangalore  after getting a gift voucher worth 1k after booking and attending the third day of ‘The Big Foodie Fiesta – Season 3’ The Big Foodie Fiesta at 1 MG Lido Mall. The Big Foodie Fiesta was an event aimed to create a foodie-centric experience highlighting specialty cuisines. The mall in association with the participating brand staged a culinary/foodie experience at the mall.

So first of all I placed a call to the Barbeque Nation Rajaji Nagar outlet and reserve a table for the next day i.e., on Sunday. I got to know that Sunday lunch costs more compared to weekday’s and sunday dinner. Also no complementary drink served on sunday lunch because of the huge crowd mostly on sunday. I along with my hubby and  4 years old kid arrive at the West Gate Mall, Golden Heights at Rajaji Nagar. Barbeque Nation was situated on the ground floor of west gate mall, just left side of the entry gate to the mall. The walk in customers have to wait as getting a reservation at a short notice is quite difficult in a sunday noon. Those waiting outside for their booked tables had a gala time in clicking selfie and family pictures with the standee cut out of Camel and dessert capturing the ‘Wahrabia’ essence beautifully. The entrance looked magical with the temporary cut out of Arabian Theme with Aladdin’s  Magic Lamp and stars. The child inside me was all excited and a part of my heart knew this is going to be an unforgettable experience for us adult’s as well as as for the kiddo.

The guy at reception accompanied us to our table and gave us a brief about this on going Wahrabia Fest , unlimited Grill and about the buffet menu of the day. The place was lightly dimmed, pictures and paintings of Ginie and His magical lamp’s can be seen in every strategical places, Twinkling lanterns,special Arabian counters and waiters in arabian costume create a nice ambience.We order one mocktail ‘ GleeChee’ (A simple lichi flavoured drink) and waited for the starting of on-table live grill while reading the whole buffet menu placed on the table. They have a total of 16 mocktails to choose from. Within a few minute we were served with a lovely Cold Mezze comprising of Fattush, Hummus, Fatayar, Fried Pita and Muhamarra.





On table choose from the available dip’s Garlic Mayonise, Mango Mint and Tomato sesame and to dip your grills and for the marination for your grill’s choose from Black Pepper, Ginger Lemon and American Chilli.




The Grill started with the vegetarian fare’s Sheesh Kudra (Assorted Grilled veggies),Jalepano Lime Mushrooms, Egyptian Zuben (Grilled Paneer), Lebanese Kabab (Veg kabab), Sweet and Smoky pinapple and watermelon, Afelia Batata (Potato Wedges), Cajun Spiced Potatoes( crisp fried roundels potato with mayo sauce n onions) and Crispy corn ( cobs of sweetcorn grilled with a dash of chaat masala). Moreover I was not feeling satisfied with their vegetarian grill offer’s so when the restaurant manager came up to our table to have our feedback. I passed my feedback to him. Within few minutes they serve me some delicious broccoli and cauliflower grill’s. They don’t have broccoli available with them. But to provide the complete satisfaction to their each customer’s they instantly buy some broccoli from the upstair mall and grilled them to perfection. I am thoroughly impressed with their service and their determination to satisfy all the customer’s cravings of their favourite choice from grill section. Also I get to taste some off the menu items like Gobi manchuria and pepper mushroom’s. I came to know that they arranged for crab’s too for a customer who specially comes for having them ,which were rarely available in their regular menu. So customer satisfaction is the top priority for the top management’s of Barbeque Nation and which was closely followed by their staff’s.







For Non-vegetarian’s they served Fiery Barbeque Drumstick, Jujeh Kebab (Chicken chunks cooked in arabian spice), Samak Meshwi (grilled fish), Rubian Meshwi ( grilled prawns) and Arabian kofta lamb seekh.


It’s good to see that they serve the custom made grill’s (option for lowering the spice level) for the kid’s. So this place and it’s non spicy grilled items get votes from my kid too.


One can choose from the Non-vegetarian Live Counter’s like Chicken Shawarma roll (small chicken rolls made with pita breads and a filling of chiken chunks cooked in a Lebanese mix ), Chicken Shesh-Tawook (soft chicken pieces on skewers), Dabel Kabab (Minced Lamb patties) and Kesabi Dajaj (Chicken liver cooked in spices).






Check out the Veg Falafel (soft potato Tikki with cheese n veggies) too .

After we are done with the grill’s, we  bend the indicator flag to upside down indicating that we are done will our live grill.

Then time came for the salad’s and Soup’s to make one ready for the main course. But frankly speaking after one finished with the scrumptious Grilled starter’s there is hardly any place left for the main course as one can never want to miss out on the mindblowing Kulfies from Kulfi Nation and the rest of the desserts. So the choice lies with the diner to opt for the main course or straight away move to dessert counter like most of us does.

For salad’s they had Morracan Salad, Mouttaba!, Anari Alu Mint Chat and Tabbouleh for the vegetarians.And Chicken Salad for the non vegetarians.

For Soup’s they had Tomato and Okra soup (for vegetarians) and Shourabat Dajaj (for non vegetarians)

For Main Course they had Paneer Kadhai, Curried Chick Peas, Nargis Kofta, Tawa Masala, Gobhi Mussallam, Zucchini Fasigratin, Dal Makhani and Veg Biryani. For Non-vegetarians they had Burani Gosht, Farareej el Fahem, Samak Harrrah Al Shara, Murgh Korma and Chicken Biryani.

They had the usual roasted and fried papad, Curd Rice, Raita and plain green mixed salad.

For desserts they had Kesari Gulab Jamun( absolutely loved these miniature gulab jamuns), Coconut Walnut Pie, Halwa-e-Gajar(tops in my must have), Baklava, Muhallbieh (creamy pudding like Phirni), Kataif Mihshi, Dark Chocolate Brownie ,Date Pastry and two flavors of icecreams with three types of sauces to use as toppings.

Along with the 6 types of kulfi’s to choose from Kulfi Nation’s. Choose from Pan( absolutely recommended), Malai, Chocolate, Mango, Kesar Pista and Strawberry and syrup of your choice from gulkand, chocolate syrup and much more as well toppings like dark and white chocolate chips, chopped fruits, sabja/basil seeds, chopped dryfruits, pan masala and chopped cherries.




We tried Pan Kulfi , Malai Kulfi and Chocolate Kulfi. They sure knows how to win over the diner’s hearts with their Kulfi collections.




The lunch ended and we are left with a content heart and over filled tummy. This was definitely an unforgettable experience dining at the Barbeque Nation and with their smiling alert staff’s. Yes this was my first ever experience at Barbeque Nation and I am surely going to visit them more often. It was heart warming to watch people celebrating their special day’s with a complementary cake, clapping’s and Barbeque Nation’s signature song singed by their staffs.

I was humming the song ‘Marhabba Marhabba’ all through the rest of the evening.

Do visit Barbeque Nation before Aladdin and His Magic Lamp fly back to magical land of Arabia.

The approx cost for two persons( one veg and one non-veg) is Rs. 1700/- including taxes.( No drinks included)

Kid’s below 5 years eats for free.
