Made In Punjab, the Premium Fine Dining Place continues to be the talk of the Town even after their amazing launch party which lasted for two days. Serious Finger licking food combined with a luxurious interiors creates the unparalleled experience which is difficult to forget. Made In Punjab from the house of Jiggs Kalra is spearheaded by Mr. Zorawar Kalra ,the man behind Farzi Cafe, Masala library and Pa Pa Ya. This Restaurant is the proud owner of ‘Noteworthy Newcomer’ in the recently held Times Food Awards 2017.
I decided to go for a dinner with my family and to get a first hand experience of the hospitality and the famed North Indian spread. As my hubby can’t skip his office as it was a week day, we decided to go for Dinner ( a la carte ) . I need to mention here that their Buffet Lunch Price is unbelievably priced at 600 INR all inclusive. And yes I am planning to go and try that as well. Recently based upon my recommendation my hubby’s Boss celebrated his Anniversary and he was impressed with the quality of food offered along with a choice of champagne and a complimentary cake from the MIP staff’s.
I reserved our table before three hours of the Dinner as I don’t want to take a chance of going there without the prior reservation. The Prior reservation allows one’s peace of mind and least chance of cancellation from our end. So even if your hubby is in a bad mood just before the Dinner, you can remind him of the reservation. We were on time and greeted by the manager of MIP who guided us to our table. I preferred to sit at the Chair’s rather than the low Sofa seating . The Place looks massive and the classy interiors was doing justice with the place.
Each table got a copy of the Menu and if undecided then the Service Persons were kind enough to suggest the Dishes based upon your preferences. In our case we decided to go with In-House Chef’s suggestions for each courses.
As a complimentary starter we got roasted punjabi masala papad with a salad of sliced Onions, Lemon and Green Chilly. From the Drink menu their interesting Cocktails always managed to keep one’s hooked. Though I did not tried the Rum based Nashili Chai but enjoyed seeing the other Diner’s enjoying this one. We ordered Kesar Pisteywali Lassi Pede de Naal ( the dry fruit loaded lassi was very filling and those with a big appetite can manage to finish this along with the food ordered) , Orange Mocktail and Minty Apple a refreshing apple and mint based mocktail.
For Starter’s Popeye Paaji ki fav chaat which got batter fried whole leaves of Spinach served along with tangy tamarind chutney and spicy mint chutney topped with nylon sev and pomegranate seeds.
Paneer Barrel Tikka where mini barrel shaped Fresh Paneer (flown all the way from Delhi to maintain the standard quality of every outlet of MIP across the India) marinated with the moderately spiced Tikka masala , stuffed with pickled minced paneer and char-coaled grilled. These were absolutely heavenly.
Jau Mushroom Chakli where round shaped patties of Jau(barley) and minced Mashroom were deep fried and served with a mayo dip. The melt in mouth texture of the filling was more than enough to make this dish the star starter of the night.
For the Main Course we got their famed Luxury BC (Butter Chicken) , truly sensational dish of succulent chicken immersed in a luscious cashew tomato onion based rich gravy.
Nalli Hard Kaur , slow cooked lamb sanks in a flavorful thick gravy where the meat just fall off the bone’s is not to be missed here .
Maa ki Dal, the best ever Dal preparation I had in recent times. And I will be make sure when ever I visit MIP in future, this Dal has to be on my table.
Lahsoon Palak Chenna, the steamed crumbled cottage cheese balls dipped in a spinach tomato onion gravy was equally good.
We paired the main course with Peas Pulao and Assorted bread basket which had mint flavoured naan, regular naan and lachha paratha .
For Dessert , we had the Mixed Dessert Platter which had Nukkad Jalebi which is crispy jalebi served in Lachcha Rabdi, Chocolate stuffed Gulab Jamun, Orange flavoured Rosgulla, Dates Ras Malai and Gajar Halwa. The Perfect ending of a satisfying meal.
After this soul satisfying dinner, one just want to head out home straight and sleep. The Focus is only on authentic North Indian food which can melt anyone’s heart with the sheer brilliance of taste and flavor. Wish them all the very best.
