Penne Pasta with a basic tomato sauce and mozarella cheese


How about some comfort food like Penne Pasta with a basic homemade tomato sauce with ample mozarella cheese at your dinner time?

Sounds interesting? Yes looks like someone is really planned their weekly menu planning including this one pot meal.

I always find pasta preparations to be easy and less time consuming unlike proper dinner preparations.

So here is the most easy penne pasta recipe for all to try it at home.

Recipe for  Penne Pasta with a basic tomato sauce and mozarella cheese


Penne – 250 gms

Fresh Tomatoes – 3 big red one’s (chopped)

Onion – 1 no ( chopped)

Garlic – 6 cloves (chopped)

Mixed Italian hearbs ( a mix of dried oregano, basil, rosemary,thyme and sage) – 2 tsp

Olive Oil – 2 tbsp

Salt – 1 tsp

Sugar – 1 tbsp

Mozarella Cheese – 1/4 th cup (grated)

Method :

Take a pan and boil some water. Add the penne and half teaspoon salt into it.

Cook the pasta according to the pack instructions until al dente.

Then drain the water and pour some cold water over the boiled penne and keep aside.

Then prepare a paste by grinding tomatoes, onion and garlic.

Take a pan and heat olive oil in it. Pour the prepared paste into the pan and saute till the sauce is cooked well. Add salt and sugar. Then add the boiled penne and mix well so that the each penne coats with the tomato sauce. Then add the mixed italian hearbs and finish off with the grated mozarella cheese.

Serve at once and enjoy this with your loved ones.

I served this with some left over chilli gobi.
