Stir Fried Cabbage

This Simple yet tasty easy to rustle dry curry of Stir fried cabbage is loved by my whole family specially when prepare this for them They can’t stop asking for the extra helping of this stir fry. This recipe is hit with the kid’s too who generally dislike their vegetables during meal time.

Recipe of Stir Fried Cabbage 


One Cabbage (medium sized) – Finely  shredded

One Carrot (medium sized) – cut into Julianne

8 Garlic Cloves – Minced

1 Onion – Finely sliced

1 tsp of Chilli flakes

Salt to taste

1 pinch of turmeric powder

1 tsp of carom seeds(ajwain)/ Black Mustard (optional – * I personally don’t like to use any for this particular stir fry)

4 tbsp of Refine Oil

1 tbsp of finely chopped Coriander Leaves (optional)


Take a deep bottom non stick frying pan, pour oil in it and wait till the oil is medium hot. Add the minced garlic and fry for few seconds Then add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Cover the pan for 2 minutes. Remove the cover and continue to stir fry in a medium heat till the cabbage and carrot were little fried but still retain their crunchy texture. Take care not to cook them till they turn golden brown because of excess cooking. Remove from the pan and enjoy this tasty stir fried cabbage with phulka or chapati.
